In Memory of Jordan Robert Horton

God Saw You

God Saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come with Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fading fast away;
Although we loved you dearly
We would not make you stay.

A gold heart stopped beating
Hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us . . .
He only takes the best.

This is the poem we chose for ^^Jordan's^^ memorial cards.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Where the Sidewalk Ends

There is a place where the Sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

Merry Christmas to everyone. We are enjoying a nice day with Patrick's family, and I will go home to Illinois on the 28th to spend a few days with mine.

We've had a whirlwind of a year. We tried doing inter-uterine insemination with sperm sorting for a girl earlier this year. We tried three times and were unsuccessful. We then had a consultation for in-vitro and found out that the cost was way outside our price range. The doctor told us about the Pay it Forward fertility foundation which offers grants to couples who want to do in-vitro but can't afford it. We filled out all the paper work and sent it in. We were supposed to hear something by December 15th, but on the 15th, we were told that the decision has been postponed. We are supposed to hear something by January 15th. We are praying that we are able to get this grant so that we can have a baby in 2011. This is our Christmas wish. We will let everyone know when we hear more.

We hope everyone is enjoying spending time with their families for the holidays, and we are wishing you and yours happy holidays.

GO HUG YOUR KIDS!
Love,
Carrie & Patrick
