Hi all.
Katy's remembrance ceremony will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston, MA. I think 11am - 2pm is the time span.
I have asked for help planning the catering; honestly it just feels like one thing too many for me and I have no idea what to do. She would have known, of course. It will probably be some kind of light-lunch, sandwich-y thing, but again, I'm asking for help on that. There are 4 vendors we need to pick from.
The room holds 50 people, I am told, and I hope that will be enough. I'm sure it could spill outward if needed. I know it's a long way off still - 6 months! - but we wanted the weather to be nice, and that was what they had available. As you may know, she had asked that if we do a ceremony like this, that we put up a white board where people could bring and post a favorite photo of her. She wanted to be remembered in health, not the illness that took her, and most people's pictures of her will be from happier times. Please bring a photo if you have one, along with a line or two about the where and the when and the what if you can, and I will collect them all and scan them into some sort of archive everyone can access.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW, either by commenting here or by emailing me at slinberg@gmail.com, if you're coming and how many you will be. If we're going to be way under or way over 50, it would be good to know sooner rather than later in case we need to change anything.
Life without her continues. The holidays were a crucible, and the daily grief is staggering. I'm trying to be comforted by memories as best I can, but it's so hard. I hope most of you can come to the ceremony in June and share a photos and maybe a memory or two.

Hi Steve, thanks for this note. Tower Hill will be lovely. I plan to come to the service and will come alone due to the concern for too many people. Hi Steve, and thank you for this message. I think of Katy often, but was thinking of her particularly just yesterday! I would love to come, and as of right now I am planning on attending. I can tell you later if I can come for sure. It is difficult to know now, because my daughter’s baby is due about two weeks before that, so we might be traveling to support her. I am sorry I cannot be more definitive. Count me as a 1 for now.
