Unfortunately, we didn't get good news from the oncologist yesterday. The new drug, which worked on my brain, doesn't seem to be working on my liver. There are several new spots in my liver, but more concerning is that my liver enzymes (which measure liver function and damage) have shot through the roof. They said I need to switch treatments again. The average time people stay on the drug I was on is 18 months, which is huge for stage 4 cancer, but I only got two months. To say we're disappointed is an understatement. The next step is a liver biopsy to see if I can take a new "wonder drug" - Enhertu. We would greatly appreciate prayer that I can get the liver biopsy done before we go on vacation next week. Not only would that be convenient, it would get the tissue sample off to the lab to start testing it. I hear the results take one to two weeks and I'm off all treatment until we have the result.
