Sorry for the radio silence.

Hospice was very kind to Dawn. She’s had peaceful days of respite and time with loved ones, including a lovely outing to the beach with Fi and Stu.

A few days ago Dawn had a surprise visit from her liver specialist bringing the news that the Auckland liver transplant team had reviewed her scans. The team has now invited her to Auckland for the weeklong transplant evaluation starting the 19th of December.

Unfortunately, the day after that news she experienced an internal bleed and is now stabilized in the hospital and will remain there, for the time being, for further observation and treatment. Dawn reminds us her condition is a moving target and we are in one day at a time mode.

More than ever, it’s important to limit visitors for her recuperation and COVID concerns.

We know you care deeply about her— please feel free to continue to message her and send her short videos. It’s imperative to keep her as healthy as possible to increase her chances for transplant acceptance.

Dawn hopes to share a personal update on her Substack soon.

So wonderful to pop in here and see you at the beach with your family, Dawn! I hope the bleed gets under control and you have a stretch of good days and are able to do the Christmas (miracle) evaluation week in Akld. As you say, one day at a time. So, for now, I'm sending wishes for another evening of love and laughter with your special people xxx

Damn. I nearly squealed with glee then precisely dropped an F-bomb. Like everyone (although less fouled mother people may not have F-ed. the point is, I shall stay resolute in my positive vibes and prayers and such. Thank you. And bless that liver transplant team for dwelling in possibility!
