Hello, old friends. I'm so glad Stormy is still doing well. And Tonya, congrats on your new job. Don't forget your dreams of being a nurse. Phillip, I'm sure you're keeping busy. Chris, hope your knee hasn't been too badly injured, we all know you're a sports hero. However, Stormy is mine and Christopher's real hero. Over the years she has been so sick and endured so much, but has continued to battle and come out on top! Hope to run into you all at St. Jude's soon (only for a check-up, though).

Christopher and I returned to Kentucky in February. So far, so good. We go for visits every month. He still plans on taking his trip to Greece/Rome early next month. I just pray that he'll be able to go. Like you, I thank God for every day that I have with my son, and he can smile at me and say, "I love you, Mom"; and I can return the love.

Hey you guys! I thought I'd check in on Miss Priss and say hello and that you are always on my mind. I am sending Stormy a huge Cammi hug! I miss you soo much and all the smiles I used to get from you!!!

I like your new picture and wow how you have grown!!!
We just went to Baton Rouge for a "fishing galore" weekend. We didn't go to the event because it was a storm coming and I didn't want to risk it, so we chilled out at the Holliday Inn...

Well, Aaron is doing okay with treatment, we are having problems keeping his WBC down while he is on chemo. His counts keeping shooting up to 5.8 and they should be at least 2.9. Dr. Pui keeps raising his 6mp but I don't think he is getting enough chemo. I don't know what is going to happen after Septmeber because he is through with chemo then. I am very nervous and scared because he has relapsed once, and you know what is next! We just are trying to get him though and live the best way he can and enjoy life as it is now!

Well, you all are in my thoughts and prayers!

Dear Beautiful Stormy, My name is Jana. I don't know you, but I just took a while reading your site and now a know a little bit about you. I came acrossed your site through another site, but now I can't remember whose it was. I know about the caring bridge sites through a friend of mine Jeanie Kane. Our dear friend Nolan(Jeanies 13-year-old son)is at St. Jude with his second time with Cancer. He is preparing to have another transplant in March. We love him so much, and pray for God to take it all away. Now Stormy will be in our prayers too. Thank God for her continued remission. I have 2 girls- Chelsey is 14, Skylar is 12, and a boy- Michael is 10, I thank God for them every day, for their health and happiness, and I will pray the same for Stormy(by the way, that name was on my list when I was first pregnant 15 yrs ago, its beautiful)I pray for the day when Cancer is a thing of the past, we need to find a CURE!! Just checking in and seeing what's up? I'm so happy to hear the report, praying the MRD comes back negative too.We got Orion's MRD results back Friday, negative.....whoooooooo.... no abnormal cells. So we are going every 2 to 3 months and no more bone marrow procedures until his yearly.

You all probably don't remember me, but my family lived in Target from November of 2003 through March of 2004 while my son Carter was treated for AML. Carter was only an infant, but I used to see Stormy in the art room when I was with my 2 year old daughter, Shelby and your dad drew her some incredible pictures. I just wanted to tell you how great your picture looked in the Target add. I am glad you are home and doing well and I am sure that you were a very beautiful ballerina!! Tonya, I wanted to let you know that your entry was very personal for me because I feel the same appreciation when I get to rock Carter to sleep every night. Hey Stormy Baby! Ms. Camille hopes you feel better soon. I hate to hear that you feel crummy. Aaron has to have the dreaded Vincristine and Dex week tomorrow and he won't be feeling like coming out of his room.
Aaron is in "honors" classes in 8th grade this year. He scored so high on his IOWA test last year, he was promoted to Algebra 1, Advanced English and Advance Reading. He missed all of 6th grade and all but the last 12 weeks of 7th and now in advanced: you know that that crummy chemo and radiation didn't slow his brain down!!!
We go to Memphis on September 15 for a spinal tap, dental...etc...I hope I don't see you there but I hope to see you all soon! I hope you can catch the huggs and kisses I am sending you baby!!! I miss you!

Once Steven started throwing up one day and four days later he wasn't keeping anything down, it was getting worse not better.

We called St. Jude and they said better do a CT scan. I was a wreck, I was convinced it was his brain tumor.

Turned out to be the flu. For him, lasted six days.

We'll say special prayers for Stormy, and for you too. We hope it turns out to be a virus, I know how scary this is.

It's Orion's mom Leslie another St. Jude family that has been bless. we have talked a few times in passing in the fish room .I was happy when Macauley's mom Kelly gave me you web page so I could see how you guys were doing. orion had his bone marrow transplant October 2004 and his sister was the brave donor, Orion's yearly is little over 4 months away. Just was checking in to let you that you guys are in our prayers and thoughts.
I have to admitt you gave me a little scare when I started reading the journal entry, I am so happy no cancer but i will pray the infection will heal fast. Maybe we'll see you at Survivors Day at St. Jude.

I will include Gramma Flora in my prayers tonight. As you know I have been in Mississippi at the SCRC Rally helping to raise money for St. Judes. question about
Craig's hair.

It was always red
and curly...when
he finished chemo..
it started coming in
completely blonde...
after about 1/4 inch,
it started turning red
again...it's a little,
just a little lighter
red than it was before.
still just as curly only
a little more curly on top...

I did some detailed reading
about Stormy....i.e. past journal

Just wanted to stop by to thank you for checking in on us last week. We have spent the whole weekend outside enjoying this beautiful spring weather and are just now taking time to turn on the computer. Abbi was really getting into planting flowers today. This was her first time at it and I must say she did very well. I will try to put some new photos of her on her website this week so please drop by soon to see how much our little angel has grown. Boy, Tonya, that poem hit home with me! As I was reading it all I could think of was Chris and Stormy. I am crying and it is a good cry, that is very much needed, Thank you so much Chris you did a good job. Stormy, Ms. Cami loves you and thinks about you all the time. Before Josh got his angel wings, he had told his grandmother and me to look for blue butterflies and he would be around us. All I see now is butterflies and I say, "Okay Josh, I know you love me." I really miss my family that we all became. Sometimes, things turn out way different than what you think they would huh? Well, we are officially moved into a new home. The place is huge! After we get settled, I'm sending you some pictures. I miss you Stormy Rain and need one of your stormy huggs!

I wish that I could just get in my car and drive straight to Memphis on Wednesday to get a hug from my stormy girl! I miss ya'll sooooooooo much. Life is so different when you first get home and have a step away from St. Judes. I feel like I might have flown over the rainbow and maybe I might be in Munchkin Land!!! Ha!Ha!! I hope you all will have a safe trip and the Pic Line placement goes good. Maybe after she gets this small problem, things will go smoother. Aaron is having Vincristin Ankle pain and had to get some Oxycodone for the pain. His pain level hit about an 8 which is harsh so at this minute he is in "la la land". We will finally get our cute little pink house that I told you about. Tell Chris to think good thoughts and I know it is tough and sometimes hard on our hearts but ya gotta keep on keepin on! We miss ya'll. Kisses for Stormy girl!!!

Hey Lott family! Tonya, I loved the poem and it really hit home because that is just how I felt when Aaron was diagnosed. Aaron is doing good and driving me crazy with his Playstation 2; he sends his sisters out of the room because they play around him and he says "Girls, ya'll go to your room and play". I will be sooooooooo glad when we get a new home because I know he will have his room and they will be in their own room--but it will be my luck that they all will be in the living room right under me! Ha Ha Aaron and I decided to start going to Baton Rouge clinic to get his chemo. He wants a change and so do I and the affiliate there is a good one which is only 3 hours away. We are going to try it for a little while and if we don't like it we will come back to St. Judes. I hope Stormy keeps on doing good because she is a special little angel to me and is one of my family now! Keep in touch! Cami!

Hi So glad to hear that Stormy is doing well. Emily and I got home late Wed. night and all appts. went pretty well. Yes, she is on Growth Hormone. She is doing pretty good with them. I give her a shot 6 days a week. One thing to let you know that St. Jude does not help wtih these and they are real expensive. Emily does well taking them. The flu is really bad up here too. March 15th I have to sign G up for 4yo kindergarten and I dread that. He is not even going to stay it just signing him up. Keep on hanging in there. Tuesday is almost here. Stormy girl, I am so proud of you for doing what you must to make it through this visit with St. Jude. Tonya and Philip, I admire the two of you so much! I know that you feel bad that you signed papers to agree to some things, and now some side effects are showing up, but if you had not signed the papers, that beautiful girl would not be in such good shape now. You did what you had to! For a child who deserves to fight and beat the beast that has tried to take her from you. You are all amazing!

Stormy must have ended up at the endocrine clinic, at TTU. We had our first appointment with endocrine when we were in Memphis last August.

The things you are describing with Stormy are very common among our kids that have had radiation and chemo. Typically they may need growth hormone injections, and possibly need to take thyroid and/or cortisol.

When we return to Memphis at the end of April, we will probably need to go overnight at Le Bonheur for 24-hour cortisol testing.

I know Stormy has leukemia, but among the medulloblastoma/PNET brain tumor patients who have had radiation, almost all of them require this sort of supplementation, and it's a good thing, they do really well with it.

St. Jude is great about following up on endocrine issues, and because the hormone supplementation is an expensive thing to do, some insurance companies balk at having to pay for it, so you may be thankful you are at St. Jude where that won't be an issue.

I guess I'm trying to reassure you. Please feel free to contact me privately if you are worried about this, we will be starting this same process with endocrine and we know what it's all about.

Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary!!!!!Now only about 90 more to go!!! Your curls are beautiful. At first Emily did not like the curls, but now she likes them. I've heard they disappear as your hair grows longer. We'll see. I think that this week is your big test week and we're praying for good results. Emily still gets nose bleeds and bruises even with platlets of 350,000. I just think even though the platlet number is normal, that they don't function as efficiently. BUT that's just my opinion. We'll be waiting for your results!

My mum is always checking me out for bruises, she thinks I don't know what she's doing.
My brother Jordan always has bruises on his legs and my mum always presses them to see if they hurt.
You see I had 2 big bruises just above my knees when I was diagnosed but they didn't hurt.
I'm sure you're fine, it's just the parents who worry too much, or in my case my mum. Lucky for me dad is a bit more relaxed.

Hey Stormy girl! I hear that you prayed for snow and your prayer came true and you got to make a snow angel! I think your prayers were answered for us here in Memphis at the Target House also because we got a lot too! Aaron and his sisters- Lauryn and Kirstyn- got to play in the snow and make snow angels too. Aaron hit me a lot with snow balls and they were cold! The ice is still here and it is cold. Ms. Cami doesn't like the cold but the white snow and ice is pretty. I hope that Santa brought you and Chris a lot of toys and you got some new barbies. Maybe Chris got some new Yugioh cards to play. My daughter Gemma had APL too, so I suppose that makes you almost cousins seeing how it's so rare!!
Anyway, she was like you too about her hair. She HATED the curls that grew in (her hair was as straight as anything before). But you know now that is has grown long, all her school friends ask her where she had her hair done 'cause it's beautiful. Now she LOVES her hair.

Your hair is so cute. Emily's looked that way in the summer but has grown a little more now. She didn't like the curls at first but she's grown to like them. Everyone we've known whose hair became curly because of chemo did eventually straighten. Emily has noticed that hers is not so curly as before. Just wait. Hi there! I just want to say thank you so much for lifting our little Madelyn and us in prayer! I am so grateful for the many prayer warriors we have!

We are still in ICU and getting stronger everyday! Our little girl opened her eyes briefly today and it felt as if I had been holding my breath for the past few days and actually was able to take a breath! It was the most beautiful feeling I have ever experienced to see life back in "My daughter's eyes" if only for a brief two seconds. My faith in God is stronger than ever through this journey but to see where we are today from what we were told two days ago, I will NEVER, EVER stop having HOPE. No one will ever tell me again that "When a patient is in this condition, they rarely recover" for God is the ultimate physician! I am not against the Dr who told me this, I am so thankful, for it has just made me more faithful than ever and I truly belive God had a hand in getting me to where I am today! There have been some miraculous things happening in the past few days!
I am sorry for rambling but it's almost 6am and I have so many emotions going on! With family by our side we take turns staying up contiuously around the clock with our little Madelyn. Mostly praying...
Thank you too for your webpage and sharing your journey! I love the pictures, you sure are a beautiful 1st grader! I can't wait to meet you soon!
