Newest Update

Journal entry by Trish Hughes

Quick update, Trish went in for surgery on the 11th to get rid of a large hernia we lovingly named her alien baby “George”. George was a hernia and part of her colon outside of the abdominal wall. The surgeon did a lateral release of her abdominal muscles and sewed her up. Unfortunately, she isn’t healing as well as we/she would like. She is not a fan of hospitals and Covid tests!! (2 in 24 hours last weekend!! One for each hospital!!)
Anywho....Her JP Drain got clogged by her nurse yesterday when she tried to flush the tube at the request of the surgeons office. (Don’t get us started on the home nurses....ugh). Her drain did start through night last night (small victory), but the color and amount of drainage coming from her drain and incision are enough for her surgeon to see her today..... Especially since she visited the ER last weekend (on her own) to be sure all was ok. She started at Mercy who didn’t want to touch it and transferred her to MMC to fix it. Her surgeon offered surgery or an antibiotic and she chose the antibiotic to start because.... who WANTS surgery when a pill is an option??
It just seems that her immune system is not quite up to par, soooooo off to the surgeon today to make a new plan.
In other news, for those wondering about the house, still not started the rebuild yet. Insurance is being a bit challenging and SLOW. Looks like Candlewood Suites may be our home for the holidays. At least Ayden is getting used to the place.
We are working hard to get karma going in our direction, so any hopes and thoughts are completely welcomed!!!!
