Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  Colin began having burning in his lungs in May. We attributed it to the fact that we were hiking, in Canada, at around 8,000ft. Upon returning home this burning persisted, although only when he exerted himself. Eventually he saw his primary doctor, who ordered a stress test and echo. We were both convinced that this was a  pulmonary issue.  The stress test showed some slight changes. He saw a cardiologist and had an angiogram on Sept 13.  Unfortunately he has triple vessel disease and will need a CABG( coronary artery bypass graft ).  It was a shock to us...he has never smoked, exercises almost daily, eats very healthy,  and doesn't even drink caffeine!!! But heart disease does run in his family.  We met with the cardiothorascic surgeon today who is expecting to need to bypass 3-5 vessels. It's a pretty big deal. We will know surgery date by end of this week. We believe in the power of prayer, good vibes/ energy ...please keep him and his medical team in your thoughts and prayers.
