I was thinking of you today when I read a post on FB. A friend of mine has given birth to 2 boys with WHS (it's a mouthful, so I won't bother you with that). Carson is 9 & doing fine, but they lost Patrick, a.k.a., Pat-a-Cakes (the spelling changes, depending on the family member). He was just shy of turning 6 months old. Not long after that, my friend gave birth to a little girl that reminds me so much of you. She is so sweet & funny, just like you were. Her name is Anastasia Grace, & I think she has a bit of your spirit. I love you, Ms. HAH (it's because she made me laugh, & they're Hailey's initials for those that might not get it). :D <3

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

Hello, our prayers are with you and your little angel. She will be cured. Our 22 month old daughter, Madalyn Louise was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma on January 31st. I am really sorry to put this here but didnt see an email address. Feel free to delete this if you want. I hope you don’t find this inappropriate, but someone recommended your site to us. In case you do not know anything about this, I am a CaringBridge mom. About 3-4 weeks ago, a friend and I started an Adopt A Kid’s Site. It is NOT affiliated with CaringBridge, it just so happens the bulk of the kids listed have sites on the CaringBridge.org server., but we list ANY and all sites.
We just ask people to "adopt" a site and promise to leave messages regularly. I got so tired of visiting kids’ sites only to see I was the last person to sign in weeks prior - or one of the last. We need more traffic to a lot more kids’ sites. It does NOT matter if you are starting treatment, or off treatment, we have everyone listed - including the kids who have passed away. We feel their parents need the most support and prayers.
We have had a GREAT response, we have about 385 kids site listed and all BUT 6 “adopted” already. (Unfortunately it grows daily – too many kids going through stuff no kid should have to go through!)
We were pleasantly surprised to see so many parents of kids with cancer, genetic disorders and other disabilities adopting kids too – although we do not expect you to or want anyone to feel obligated to. We just hope it will create more “traffic” to more kids’ sites, and hopefully raise awareness. You do not have to do anything EXCEPT let us know if you DO want your site listed. Please reply back WITH your website address in the email. We have only good intentions, but if you do not want to be listed that’s fine, we understand.

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. When my son was 9 years old, we watched him go to death's door and back. The brain injury nearly took his life and now at 17 and mildly handicapped we are greatful that the incident has only left a few scars (both mental and physical). I know this doesn't compare too closely to the tragedy you face with your child at this time, but in our darkest hour I am familiar with the emotional rollercoaster you are on right now. With the support of family and friends (and even strangers) it helped to know that we weren't alone, somehow, sharing our grief made it easier to bear. Let those who want to, do things for you, its okay to let someone carry the burden, even if just for a little while, when you are tired --rest, your strength is going to be very important. Hailey, you don't know us yet, but my son, Cam, is a special angel just like you with stage 4 neuroblastoma. He just turned 2 and was diagnosed in January of this year. We have been checking your site and want to say we are SO HAPPY to hear the wonderful news about the recent scans. We know just how challenging this disease can be, especially on little ones that should be enjoying the sunshine! Some words of encouragement for Mom and Dad -- you all look like a young family like my husband and I. Cam has done so well and is beating the odds of this horrendous disease. He has been blessed with strength, resilience, and good health all year. We have had very few problems at all and just completd transplant about a month ago here at Duke. We will continue to pray and check on Hailey -- she is doing wonderful! It was only a few months ago that Cam was still doing his chemo and now we are almost through treatment. I found out about you through your cousin, Jen. I have a son that is 2 years old and is currently in remission from Neuroblastoma. This nasty disease can be beat and we are praying that you will beat it with God's help. We want you to know that you have prayers going up for you all the way from South Carolina. I'm glad that your 2nd round of chemo was better than the first. We will keep checking in on you.

Little Hailey Lou Hoo. I am so glad you are doing better this round of chemo. Glad that you get to go out and see the sights of Seattle. I am waiting for you to get home so that you and Brookie can play, and I'll make sure that my candy drawer is stocked when you get here.
