2 weeks gone by: full of Nora being up for about 6 hours, then back into bed and sleeping for the remaining part of the day. She LOVES to be up again, and gets weepy when she knows the 'up' time is over, and she wearily says, 'I don't want to go to bed because it's been a lovely day...and can I get in the wheelchair tomorrow?' Of course sweetheart...we'll plan on it..... So, our days morph just a bit, and we re-adjust. She made yummy cupcakes with a friend on Monday, and Tues. brought her a private stash of chocolatechip cookies which arrived with an indoor paper-baseball game....Nora 12, Callie 2, and Patty 0 ? World Series has nothin' on that famous team!!...Haven't quite figured how P. scores it, but Nora loves it! Trying to recover the difficulty of the summer, and find a new level of peace for all of us...He is our peace. Need to keep remembering that extra sleep also helps the caregiver as well as the attended. Keep taking care of each other. Family and friends alike. Ages ago I received a card with this message: ' a friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and sings it back to you when you forget the words' (Chuck Swindoll, I think) I can't tell you how comforting that was...so many years ago(yes,MB..Fla.!), BUT so true. There are times in all of our lives when we forget the words...what a blessing to have a friend that knows you well enough to know your heart, and the desires God has placed in it...Some days we WILL need others to remind us of who we are, used to be, and will become, with the Lord's help. Praying that your times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.. Act. 3:19 ..D..
