It was 2 years ago November that we got the news that Jenna and Patrice were a match and that we could proceed with picking a transplant date. I was very happy, but also wary about getting too excited because I know there can be many unseen obstacles. You hear it all the time, where the surgery is postponed or cancelled due to a number of reasons. But I do recall that birthday of Jenna's and Thanksgiving being very happy for our family!

We were fortunate. Jenna's one of the lucky ones who came through the surgery without problems. I am praying for others that have had a tougher time with their transplants.

Jenna just had her 23rd birthday. She's very healthy. Her recent labs have her creatinine at .97 - the lowest ever! All indications are that her little kidney is strong and in top shape. She's attending school and still looking for a job (tough time for that though!) I recently heard from Patrice and she's doing fine as well, which is most welcomed news!
