Casey has not really recovered from all of his infections yet. Although the labs are looking much better, he is still feeling crummy. He hasn't slept for two nights and wakes up with every tiny sound...not good in a hospital! He has an upset stomach and can't really eat...but keeps trying. We sure hope that everything is better when he finishes this round of antibiotics. He went to bed at 7:30 and has been asleep 3 times, but is awake once again...dang!
On the good side, he was able to have his second positioning clinic for his new chair. He is looking really good in it. Now it needs to have the programming kinks worked out...it goes faster backwards than forwards and that is never good!
Casey met with the community reintegration counselor today. She helped set up his meeting with Vocational Rehabilitation when we get home. She also did an interest survey with Casey. This lists the careers that seem like a good fit for Casey's interests. He will take this with him when he meets with Voc Rehab. They will help him meet his goals for the future.
The house is flying along and our friends and family are doing remarkable work in a short time...we can't wait to see it all!
I am trying to put together a photo collection of Casey's journey. If you have pictures of benefits, visits, or work on the house...please email them to vmckern@yahoo.com. We appreciate it. It will always remind us of how blessed we are.
