Adi is currently in remission from stage 4 Neuroblastoma (a pediatric cancer of the nervous system). He was diagnosed in early December 2004 at 17 months of age. He has undergone 13 rounds of chemo therapy, 1 surgery to remove the tumor and 12 months of accutane. He finished all treatment in December 2006 and we are praying he stays in remission!

Adi lost his first tooth today!! It is on the bottom. I noticed a few weeks ago that it was loose and today while he was supposed to be resting, he came out and told me it was really loose. I told him to leave it alone and go back and lay down. Two minutes later, he returned with the tooth in his hand. He was so excited!! I can't believe he is already loosing his teeth. He is growing up WAY too fast. I think it is even harder for me that he is growing up because he is my only baby. Since I am not married and don't know when that is going to happen, it is going to be awhile before I have another baby! I want him to stay little (at least for now).

He started his last year of preschool yesterday. Next year he will go to Kindergarten in America!! He has two teachers. The one that he has had this week is named Doamna (word for Mrs.) Nadia. She seems really sweet and he likes her a lot. I hope his class will be good for him this year. The other teacher is Doamna Jenny. I met her yesterday in the hallway and she said she needed to tell me one thing...to CUT Adi's hair. Welcome to Romania (the country without any boundaries). She said his hair was all over and that it doesn't look nice. No boys in Romania have long hair and they cut most of the girls hair short too. I told her that I like it long and that he had cancer when he was little and didn't have any hair and that is why I like him to have his hair this way! He is so cute with his hair like this. Some people tell me to cut it but most foreigners who come here tell me that I better NOT cut his hair because it is so beautiful. I hope she doesn't bring it up again and that she doesn't say anything to him. It is none of her business. Anyway, it didn't leave me with the best first impression of her. Hope it will be good with her in spite of that.

I am going to go add a few new pictures of Adi so check them out!! Two updates in one week...I am proud of myself!!

Love,

Kari and Adi
