Journal
Thursday, March 13, 2008 1:09 AM CDT Howdy everyone, it's been a while since we have filled everyone in on what has been going on in our lives. We have been busy doing lots of things, but that is no excuse for not keeping our Caringbridge family updated, and we apologize for the lapse in updates. Tuli has been doing great, and his latest scans showed clear. He has been having pains in his right ankle, and so off to the Doc we went, x-rays were done, and we saw a broken screw is the culprit. When they went in to remove his small bone, in his leg, for his arm reconstruction, they put plates & screws in his ankle, and one of the screws has broken, and is causing the discomfort. So, on the 24th, it's back in for more surgery. This is surgery # 6, so he is getting to be an old pro at this, but he is still a little apprehensive, and that's understandable. What is not understandable is that we feel fortunate to have only had to undergo 6 surgeries, guess it could've been more, so we're counting ourselves lucky. As long as he stays in remission, that is all that matters. Last week, we took the family to Disneyland, for vacation, and a good time, was had by all! The weather in southern Cal, was great, and it sucks to have to come back to the cold, but there is no place like HOME! We just found out Ben's sister's mother-in-law has stage four breast cancer, and they recently did a biopsy on her pancreas to see if it had metasticized there. Still awaiting the results. Right now she is undergoing hormone therapy, and she suffered 2 strokes, so docs are trying to help her recover from her strokes, and fight the cancer at the same time. Life is never short of curve balls! One of Ben's favorite sayings, and he's paraphrasing the words of Christ, is, "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it!" Hope everyone is meeting their challenges, remember our prayers & love are always with you, our Caringbridge family!
