Hi everyone. I hope you're all enjoying summer vacation. The boys are doing really well, so I'm not at the point of wishing that school were starting, yet :). I've tried to keep them busy w/swimming in our neighborhood pool, weekly library trips, & sleepovers. We had a week of Vacation Bible School at church & they loved it. Jeffrey & James were together in a preschool class & everyone had alot of fun.
We took the boys to the circus. We received tickets from Make-A-Wish & it was awesome. Jay & Josh hadn't been in a few years & Jeffrey & James have never been, so it was perfect timing. They were so excited & their eyes were huge watching the show. They especially loved Bello the Clown. Thank You, Thank You to Make-A-Wish.
Joshua went to Camp Grey Dove at the end of June & he had a blast. It was from Sun to Wed & he came back saying that it was too short. His friends from last year were there & he made a new friend. Camp Grey Dove is a camp for the siblings of cancer kids & sponsored through Candlelighters. Joshua looks forward to it all year. It has been really good for him.
Jay leaves for Camp Discovery next Sun. He is so excited about it. He's already made his list of what we still need to get! It's getting easier to send him off for a week. That first yr ('04), was so hard. I remember wanting to go & get him by Wed. & poor Shawn, I didn't think he'd make it until that Sat when we picked him up! Now, it actually seem like the week flies by & Jay always says that it was too short!
Shawn took his vacation last week & we started it off by going to see the movie Cars. It was so funny. We loved it. When we left, Jay & Josh said that we have to get it when it comes out on DVD. I'm not too sure about James & the movie theatre yet. The others were all 3 when they went to their first movie at the theatre, they sat through it, & have ever since, not James. He gets up, tries to move around, talks, says that he has to go potty about 3 times, etc! I'm so not used to that! On Monday, we took the boys to our local water park. It's not Schlitterbahn, but it'll do for now :). It just opened mid-June & is small, but it's the first phase & we're hoping that the next phase will be bigger. The boys love it, though & that's what matters. I've taken them, along w/my friend Shawn & her 3 boys about 3 times before, but it was the first time that my Shawn has gone. He enjoyed it. We met my friend Shawn, her 3 boys, her nephew, & her sister & brother-in-law there & took a picnic lunch & stayed for the afternoon. It only takes us a couple of minutes to get there, which is nice! We BBQ'd at home for the 4th of July. On Friday, Shawn took the baseboards off & re-laid the floor in Jay's room & then took the boys swimming after dinner. Sat, he did his long bike ride & then took James w/him to run errands & I painted Jay's room. He rode his bike several times during the week & watched the Tour de France, usually w/Joshua, so he did have some time that was just for him. Last night he took Jay, Josh, & Jeffrey to see Pirates of The Carribean last night. They loved it. Jeffrey was fine & said that there was only one part that was a little scary, but he was fine for the rest of the movie. I kept James at home & he was a little put out, but he got over it.
This week we don't have much going on except touch-up painting in Jay's room & getting ready for camp. Shawn ended up being 3 boards short on Jay's floor, so we had to order another box & wait for it to come in next week before he can finish & then put up the new basebords. Jay & Josh are doing a kids triathlon on Sat. They are excited about it. Of course now that Josh has been watching the Tour w/Shawn, he's decided that when he gets his next bike, he also needs a time trial helmet!!! Joshua has his hockey class until the end of the month & Jay has a 3 day football camp the last week of June & then football season starts Aug 1st. & our lives shift into high gear!

Shawn has added the link above to his LiveSTRONG Challenge page. Please take a minute to stop by.

Have a great week & give your kids a big hug.
