Hey John Russell, thinking of you on your Angel day, sweet farmer boy. I hope you are keeping a good eye on Charlie, Bella, Mommy and Daddy. I was just thinking about how much everything has changed and how grown up all the kids are getting. Quinn is 18 now, out of school, playing hockey and deciding what direction to go in the future. Callum is 14, almost 6' tall, in Grade 9...next year is high school. There have been many sad times over the years and many, many happy times too. I recently read 'Proof of Heaven' the other day, it made me feel even more sure that you and all the other angels are in a very good place, better than here on earth and surrounded by love, always. I really hope we get to meet in Heaven, I know we would be such great friends :-)
Love you lots, Tracey xoxox <traceyeh639@gmail.com>

Happy 14th Birthday, precious angel farmer boy! You know, I never realized until today that you are exactly one year older than another cancer warrior I have followed for many years, Katia Ladybug! Katia turns 13 today, she has beat her AML but wages a daily battle with her GVHD. If there is anything you can do to help her out with that, please do. I think this must be a very special day to be born, because you are both such special children. I bet you are very busy driving tractors all over that heavenly place! I will be lighting candles to honor your birthday today and send big hugs out to Mom, Dad, Charlie, Bella and Shanny xoxo

Dear John Russell, surely the cutest farmer in Heaven....I thought about you many times today and spoke your name to many......remembered how I found out on the 22nd via this website that you had gone on to the top of the mountain, I was so very heartbroken. Today was a day filled with your sunshine and the gorgeous shades of gold and red and when I think of you, I smile. I'll never forget you, much love, Tracey xoxoxo

John Russell- I think about you often & keep your picture in my room. It's my favorite black & white photo of you in a sweater & while you were only a toddler at the time your face was so handsome & grown up. Every September I can't believe that another year has passed. It is because of you that I work for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help find the cure for blood cancers in children. You are in my heart forever! Love Always

Hi Big Boy!!
It's Aunt Mimi. Although I haven't written in a while, does not mean I don't think about you. It's hard to believe you would be 13. I wonder if you would be as tall as your cousin Lubby. I'll bet you would be. Thanks for the strength you give me when I pray to you. It always works. I know you were the angel watching over Lexie a week ago-thanks for that ;) I miss you more than you know. Love you all the way to heaven and back!

Thinking of you always John Russell. Saw the most beautiful, big, bright, green John Deere tractor sitting in the field yesterday with the sun rays shining right over it...thought of you as I drove past it. You continue to send many gifts from above and your light shines so amazingly bright around us.

Happy 12th Birthday in Heaven, John Russell!!! I was telling Shanny, you will be needing a much bigger tractor this year :-) She said the sun was shining so brightly today in MN and guess what? It was shining crazy bright here in Calgary too, Quinn and I both mentioned how we wished we had brought our sunglasses as we headed out in the truck today. It hasn't been sunny here in forever, I bet you had something to do with that ;-) You are so loved and so missed, I hope we'll all meet one day in Heaven. Bestest Birthday Wishes, little buddy xoxoxo

Hello Farmer John Russell!

How are things going on your heavenly farm? I bet you are very busy getting ready for Christmas, getting the tree up and the presents ready...I bet you have presents ready to send down to Mom,Dad,Charlie, Bella, Shanny and many more too...I know you will be all around them. Merry Christmas, sweet angel!
So, we finally made it to MN this summer! We had SO MUCH FUN at the lake, I have to get some photos out to Shanny to see. We also had a great time at the Mall of America and I even got to speak with Shanny on my cell phone but we didn't get to see each other this time, but it was great talking with her....one day! I was eyeballing that Bath & Body Works store while I was talking to Shanny and after I was off the phone, I headed right on over....what a treat, as we don't have that store in Canada :-)
Well, I see that Shanny is still spending lots of time with her Jon, hmmmm, could be serious? ;-) I've seen a photo of him and he sure looks like a 'keeper'!
Aunty Kary and family are going to be in MN for Christmas this year to be with Uncle Joel's family, so we are having our Christmas with them this coming weekend on the 20th. Even though it's been -40C with the windchill the last few days, the lake is sadly not frozen over enough for our special Christmas hockey on the lake, the boys will be disappointed but I am sure that in another week or two, we will be able to get out there. On Christmas day, we will be at our good friend's house, the Henderson's and they have a big backyard rink, so you know the game will be on!!
Well, I have to get going now but I want you to know that I was thinking of you lots and I am sorry I missed your angel day back in September, but you are always in my heart.

Love Tracey and family xoxo <traceyhewison@shaw.ca>

Hi Bugaloo,
How are you? You have been sending special treasures like crazy. My heart sinks everytime Jon and I drive up to the cabin and pass the many John Deere, Case IH and other tractors- I saw a farmall and it reminded me of the cool model tractors grampa and gram gave you. I just cant even believe how long its been since I heard your laugh. Your angel day is coming up very soon...we all miss you more than words can say. Your light shines within us and we hope we can shine your light on others as we walk through this journey of life.

Shanny met one of Jon's friends last month and guess what he does- he's in sales..guess what he sells...tractors! I have a hunch you may have gone down that path yourself...

Missing you more than words can say. Heart to heart forever.

Love you for always,
Your Shanny

Hi Bugs,
How are you? I had the opportunity to talk to your good guestbook friend, Tracey from Canada! She is so sweet. Her family was making a quick trip through Minneapolis. You sure are lucky to have such a great friend!

How is your heavenly farm? Jon lives in Lakeville and I see more John Deere tractors on my drive out this way. I think of you so much, Bugs! I heard miss princess Bella was a beautiful flower girl at your cousin's wedding. I can only imagine what Chi looked like in his pinstripe suit- dressed to the nines.

I bet you are flying high through the clouds. Heart to heart forever Bugga boy. Send your love to the farm.

Love you,

Hello Buggy,

Mommy is missing, missing and missing you.....

Your best friend Shanny has sure been sending you messages. We were just laughing about how Shanny got you to eat bananas.... wasn't she silly that day? I think Shanny would have done anything to help you and she did, didn't she?

You are keeping a close wing on Charlie and Bella, I know they are keeping you on the run and very busy. I see you smiling over them and casting a light about them that is illuminating. They miss you too.

Well, you started a whirlwind of change in your powerful and short time here with us. You have and continue now to help hundreds of people with the information you led us to on your journey. Adults and children both have found and regained true health because of you. Someday we will have your website up and running and be able to help more. In the meantime keep dropping those feathers at the feet of those that need it most.

Our thanks to all of your Caring Bridge friends that continue to send messages and remember you - we do appreciate their thoughts, notes and love.

I love you for all time and miss you for eternity

Our Anna went Home 9 years ago this past May. My pain is still as sharp, except now it's buried deeper. My tears are just as fresh, except now they stream on the inside. Nevertheless, they both stand just as alert as ever; the pain and the tears poised, ready to spring out when triggered by just about anything. Praise God that by His grace our great grief and sorrow is not one of hopelessness! May the precious thought of holding John Russell again lift and encourage your hearts as his Homegoing anniversary approaches.

Hi John Russell,
It's been way too long since I've checked in. But you are ALWAYS on my mind. Right now the butterflies are all over the place here in Iowa as they start making their way south, so as I see them eating out of the flowers, I just look up and smile.

I had the privilage of spending time with your family this summer in Jackson Hole, Wy and it was amazing to see how your brother and sister have grown. Charlie is such a little man and Bella, well, lets just say your parents have their work cut out for them. hahaha. She is a delight. Charlie, so handsome. It was great seeing your mom and dad too. I hope to see them soon on Non-business meeting. That would be a joy.
I'll be in flying to Italy next week, and I'll be looking up to the sky thinking of you. I can't believe how the time has gone by.

Until next time

Hi Bugs,
How are you? Shanny was reminded of you yesterday while produce shopping at this little farm market. They had little Case IH & John Deere tractors & accessories. They also had a real John Deere tractor out in the field. I'm sure you would have LOVED this little market. Well, that brother Charlie starts his first day of full day Kindergarten on Tuesday! WOW Can you believe it?! Big girl Bella starts school too! I'm sure you will be flying high above them both on their very first days of school. Thinking of you each and every day.

Lots of Love,

That mommy's bday is coming up real soon. I'm sure you are sending them the greatest of treasures on their special days! It sounds like the crew had a nice time playing with you each and everyday out on the farm in Iowa! Mommy said you have 14 toy tractors at your special resting site? WOW tractor man!! Mommy also said you left an apple for them each and every day- did you shake it from the crab apple tree above you? Sounds like Bella brought some zip & vinager down to Iowa- I'm sure she kept everyone quite busy as any typical 2.5 yr old would :) Belle is so proud of herself- she is potty trained! Ahhhwhooohoo big girl! Go Belly!!! Charlie is the big man starting full day kindergarten real soon. I'm sure he will have a great time!

I am sorry I missed your special birthday, I am just going to take a quick look back in my daytimer to see what was going on around that time....I see that we had Quinn's birthday party (he turned 11) the very day after yours (his actual birthdate is Jan 13...we went out that night to a lovely lobster dinner, then on to a Roughnecks Lacrosse match at the Saddledome). This year, we went to the Roller rink, the boys all had such fun. The next day was very busy, with hockey practice at 8:45 am, followed by a birthday party for our friend Rhys, followed by a birthday dinner at Prego's for my sister Nicki and it was also the day that sweet Tyler Wilson took his wings to Heaven, two years ago. Next year, we will be in Maui/Kauai on your birthday,(for my little sisters wedding!) so I will be sure to write your birthday message in the sand :-)
Well, I was so hoping to make it to Minnesota this summer and possibly seeing Shanny there, but now we are not going...Aunty Kary has the summer place just booked up full for the summer and cousin Ben would have been away at camp that week anyway, so we have decided to camp around Alberta and do some work on the home and garden. Maybe one day, instead of going to Jackson Hole, everyone will want to come out to Banff instead! :-)
Quinn and Callum are getting big and tall, still so very blonde! They are currently in basketball camp all this week and loving it. There is a WONDERFUL church group up from Louisiana who are putting it on, we love their southern accents and they are so great with all the children. I bet Charlie is getting very good at making hoops, especially with some of your help. You are the best brother ever. That is all our news for now, keep sending all your special gifts, we love you,

Tracey and family xoxo HAB <traceyhewison@shaw.ca>

Happy 4th of July John Russell! Did you decorate your heavenly farm in red, white and blue? I am sure you are having quite the celebration! Well, mommy, daddy, Bella, Charlie & Shanny made a fantastic trip to Jackson Hole, WY 2 weeks ago! It was so much fun. It was absolutly breathtaking. We could sure hear you loud and clear, we found many heart shaped stones! You were certainly dancing around us and in our hearts. We had a nice time, mommy & dadddy did some hiking and fly fishing, we did biking, swimming, relaxing in the hot tub and just enjoyed what nature and life had to offer in Jackson Hole. I imagine heaven resembles much of the look and feel Jackson Hole offers. We miss you and love you so much!

Forever and always,
Shanny

Hi Bugs!
Miss Bella had her dance recital last night. She looked just way too cute in her little white "going to the chapel" costume. She and the gang went out to dinner to celebrate afterwards. It was a very nice night out. She LOVED getting flowers afterwards! Charlie is doing very well. He had his art gallery last week at his school. He did such a nice job on his art. He is moving on up into the big Kindergarten! He will be going to a full day of school next year- wow! Pretty big stuff!

We hope all is well up on your heavenly farm. I am sure you are out crusing through the sunshine on your red Case IH tractors! We all miss you so much Bugga boy and love you more than words can say.

Forever- your "bestest buddy",
Shanny

Hi Bugs!
Shanny and Bella spent the weekend having lots of fun! We made our way to 2 local gardens, saw the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, dinned out at a fabulous sushi restaurant, painted flower pots and played at a pretty fun park. Such a fun girls weekend. I know you were flying high with us. I am sure you were also flying high over Charlie last weekend while he went to New York City to see the Lion King! Quite a powerful message about the circle of life. It seems like yesterday when you and I would play down in the playroom with the Lion King song playing on the cd player. We miss you so much and think about you each and every moment of each and every day! Loving you more than words can say.

Forever,
Your bestest buddy- Shanny xoxo

Hello Buggy,
Great Grandma is doing soooo much better, thank you for watching over her.

We saw your messages on our hike last week, did you see ours to you right at the top of the mountain?

Your healing house has a new coat of paint on it and the arbor has been repaired to your satisfaction I assume! Of course that little sister of yours had to do her own decorating of the new paint job with those markers.... I know you were giving her a major angel kick in the tushky!!! She seemed to have remorse after Charlie and Mommy told what you would think of it she did say "shame on me..." oh she can be a little stinker. But everytime I see her eyes dance and her smile ignite, I see your light shine through her and know you sent her with special love and extra-ordinary light.

Did you catch Charlie's two power baskets in his new hoop? He worked very hard and needed that boost that suddenly came to him!?

We feel you and see your messages and miss you every single moment of our days and nights. We will never forget all that you taught us and so many that you have since helped with all you showed us.

I love you for always Buggy

Hi Bugs,
Well, Chi sure had a great 5th birthday! His party theme was treasure hunt- and boy was it a fun treasure hunt! He had loads of fun! Charlie was so excited at the amount of books he received...this year in lieu of gifts, he asked for children's books. He and daddy are going to a school near daddy's work to donate the books. Grampa Russ flew in for the big birthday fun and mommy put him to work doing what he does best....decorating! Go grampa! Bella helped add her finishing touches with the balloons. Mommy, nanna & toma prepared fresh fruit skewers for the gang and lots of other yummy stuff. You sure were shining bright over Charlie on his special day. Did you happen to get all of the great balloons we sent up to you on your birthday? I am sure you have them tied up next to your heavenly farm house. We love you so much and miss you a TON. Sending all of our love, prayers and light your way.

Forever- your "bestest buddy"

Happy Birthday John Russell!!!!!!!!!
I cannot believe #7 this year. I'm sorry I missed signing in on your special day. I was skiing in Mammoth Lakes and Im sure you were there. It was a little cold for butterflies this time, as I am ususlly there in March. But we did come across a few feathers, one was in a tree as I was heading down the mountain and taking a break,I looked into this pine tree and there it was. You were the first thought to come into my head. It gave me a little smile and strength to get down that mountain. My sister thought I was ready for the TOP of the mountain. I resisted and told her "no way, 12000 feet, forget it, I'm not ready"!! But I made it. I just let the fear go and away I went. Bliss. I know you and my grandpa were riding on my shoulders. Thanks for that.
Now Charlie is having a birthday. WOW!!!! I'm sure you'll be joining in on the festivies in your special way.

Until next time,

Hi Bugs,
Wow, you sure had quite a birthday. You got a super huge bundle full of balloons from aunt Pepper, Craig, Sammi & Kayla. We pulled three special balloons from the bundle and brought them up to your bedroom. Chi and Bella tied them in your room and sang happy birthday to you (3 times!). Then we got 3 balloons and let them off at night. It was as if you opened the sky up right over the house- the stars were EVERYWHERE, it was truly amazing! The many stars were shining so bright directly over the front driveway but when we looked around the neighborhood you didnt see a star in the sky. It was just incredible! You sure sent us quite a gift! Then- after all the balloon excitement, Chi, Bella and I went in and made fresh fruit smoothies to celebrate. We are sure that you got your very special balloons just in time for your big heavenly 7th birthday party. Did you get our special messages on the balloons? They were sent with so much love.

Happy 7th Birthday angel boy!

Love,
Shanny
