Dakoda Jacob Bell

7/13/1995 - 2/8/2004

Welcome to Dakoda's Web Page.

Dakoda was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme on January 23, 2002. This is a fast growing, malignant brain tumor. Due to location of the tumor, it is inoperable.

Please visit the sites of our friends below and help encourage them during their battles.

Yes, it has been exactly a year since I updated Dakoda's page. And again, it's gotten no easier being without him in our lives. He is in our thoughts thousands of times each day. We see him over and over in our minds...seeing his wonderful smile and hearing his infectious laugh...we miss him terribly.

Thank God for the friends we have and the community at our church. They still continue to be as understanding and supportive as they can. Our church held a mass in his honor today, and his sixth grade class (the class that he would have been in now), had an ice cream social to remember him and celebrate his life today! We see all of his classmates (the ones that still attend his school) almost every day, as Tracee is still working at the Early Learning Center there at the school, and, since coming home from my deployment, I am just up the street at my old place of employment. I have also been able to assist, on a part-time basis, with Dakoda's class basketball team as well. So, we have the pleasure of seeing a lot of the kids....and, I can tell you that they are all a great bunch of kids! It's wonderful to hear the memories they share about Dakoda, and see the warmth and respect they show his memory and our family. We are truly blessed in that aspect of our lives!

Although we feel blessed to be in the church community where we are...it is still bittersweet to see his friends and wonder what Dakoda would be like now and wonder how he would be doing at his sports, school and social life. If you knew him, I think that you can confidently say that he'd still be flashing his wonderful smile, spreading warmth and kindness, playing his sports and having fun with his friends, and, of course chasing the girls!

Please continue to pray for the other children and families dealing with such hardships, especially Chase, as we have just found out that he is now battling lymphoma.

God bless!
