Journal

WOW! It's been a very, very long time since I last updated!!!

Life has been going very well. Both boys have stayed healthy and busy over the last year.

Alex will be going into 6th grade and entering Valley Middle School. He is very excited about the change. He was involved in a 4 week orientation program this summer that prepares kids for the changes middle school brings. Over the last year, Alex has been involved with Scouts, soccer, wrestling, baseball and cross country. Last December he earned his "Arrow of Light" which is Cub Scout's highest award. He went to Boy Scout Camp for a week this summer and earned his 2nd class Scout. He is looking forward to another school year but is enjoying these last few weeks of summer.

Oliver, PTL, has stayed very, very healthy over the last few years. He will be going into the 3rd grade and has made tremendous academic strides over the last year. He will no longer be receiving any academic support as he has caught up with his classmates. Sadly (for us), Oliver's para at school has taken a teaching position and will no longer being working with Oliver this school year. She will be missed very much but Oliver, our family and the other students! Oliver has been involved in Scouts and Power Soccer over the last year. In June, Oliver and his team went to Birmingham to play in the Power Soccer National Tournament. Power Soccer has been such a wonderful addition to our lives. It really allows Oliver to participate fully in an activity without any assistance. It has really given Oliver a huge confidence boost. He is looking forward to the 3rd grade and seeing all his friends. He is quite the social butterfly and loves to spend time with his peers. Having the opportunity to spend a few days at school with Oliver has allowed me to see how well he interacts with his peers.

It's off to work time. Thanks for checking in on us.

Lisa
