My barely 2 year old nephew was diagnosed last month with a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. This has been very devastating to our family and is very heartbreaking. You can't feel how much pain it is unless it happens to you.
Unfortunately, there isn't much attention in Childhood Cancers since most of them are rare cancers. In effect, there isn't much studies and research done for their cure.
I signed the petition "Cure Childhood Cancer - Another Inconvenient Truth". I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 1,000,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Thank you!

Cure Childhood Cancer - Another Inconvenient Truth
Target:
News media (e.g. 20/20, Dateline, 60 Min.) - we need to tell our story!
Sponsored by:
CureSearch & Texas Children's Hospital

RAISE AWARENESS & FUNDING FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER
Childhood Cancer Facts

- Childhood cancer is the #1 killer disease of our children, more than from asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies, and pediatric AIDS combined

- 1 in 300 children will be diagnosed with cancer before age 20
- Each year 3,000 children die, and 35-40,000 are in treatment

- The National Cancer Institute's (NCI) federal budget was $4.6 billion. Of that, breast cancer received 12%, prostate cancer received 7%, and all 12 major groups of pediatric cancers combined received less than 3%

OBJECTIVE - RAISE AWARENESS

-Deliver signatures to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox and challenge every prime time, investigative or news media to produce a special devoted solely to childhood cancer.

- The show will RAISE AWARENESS OF THE PROBLEM and show how special these kids are. Show how they face fear, pain, boredom and the unknown, many times for years on end. They may live or die, yet each will forever impact those around them in ways beyond their years.

You can make a difference. You can help. Please sign.

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

Hello! I love your glasses and you are such a pretty girl. It is always so nice to read of survivors. My daughter, Ashley, was dx October 3, 2001 with Stage 1 Embryonal Rhabdo on her tongue. She was born with her tumor present. She is a 2 year survivor, last chemo date was August 30, 2002. YEAH! May you continue to remain cancer free adn congrats on starting 3rd grade. Way to go! A: Because they'd look stupid in anoraks!

Hi Sydney and family!
I have a son named Cooper who was dx with alveolar rhabdo this past July. He has a localized tumor in the scrotum area. I was reading your journal and saw Dr Williams on there. That is also Cooper's doctor. We are doing the study of VAC vs VAC with Topetecan. We were put in the VAC only group. it is kind of scary to wonder if they would be better off with one treatment or the other. Anyway UofM is great and we will pray that your scans stay clear forever! www.caringbridge.org/mi/cooper.

Hi Syd, writing from Florida. We saw the aftermath of hurricane Charley driving down here, our hearts and prayers go out to all the people who were affected by the storm.
Seeing steel light poles bent in half like tooth picks, homes torn apart like they were made of paper reminds us of God's Power (nature), but, we saw that power when He healed you. Always remember and give thanks to the one who loves us and guilds us.

Hello my name is Diane, Christin's mom. Christin had rhabdo behind the left eye when she was 4--she is now 27 years old. I am interested in the eye doctor your child sees for the continuing care of her eye. We have never found one in our area that seems to know what can be done to help the ongoing problems left behind from the radiation treatments. I am so glad to see that you are well--and encourage you that Christin has a wonderful life. God Bless you---Diane

My little sister Taylor was diagnosed with Rhabdomayosarcoma in her left calf almost 6 years ago now She was told that she would never walk normal or run agian. She had to undergo treatments and check-ups for about 2 years then had surgury to remove the tumor. Taylor is now Cancer free and has been for almost 4 years. She is a very strong girl. She plays softball and soccer and is full of energy. I had to tell her story because as I was reading yours it reminded me of her. Hi Sydney....

Horray for you.....climbing the rock wall! I tried that last year on a field trip with the school that I work for. Well...I guess you know, I spent the next 6 months on worker's comp! I fell and tore the ACL and MCL in my knee and had to have surgery! So rock walls and I are not a compatible thing!

Sydney you are a very pretty little girl and I praise God that you are doing well. My little girl had rhabdo to and she is cancer free now for six months and just finished treatments. Her name is Lindsie and she is my angel just like you are your mommys angel. May God bless you every day that passes. You and Lindsie have been through more than anyone I know. You two are truley gifts from God. Keep your faith and everything will be fine. With much happiness for you, Tracy Yates

Hi there! I'm so glad your Mommy found Connor's web page and signed his guestbook. We are so proud of you for fighting and beating the rhabdo cancer monster. You are such a brave young lady. I know it seems so unfair sometimes, to have to be going through all of the yucky stuff, but always remember, God is always with you.....He will never let you down. We have your site saved on our 'favorites', so now we can check on you often. You take care, we are proud to have you as our new friend!

Love and hugs,
