CREATE A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chili’s restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Visit www.createapepper.com and to make an online donation.

PASS IT AROUND!!!!

GET YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY TOGETHER!!! TRUST ME ITS SUCH AN AMAZING CAUSE :)

You sound like such a wonderful little girl, and I know God is looking out for you. I saw you on Colins web page, and thought I need to put an other Little one on my prayer list. I think prayer is so important, and will pray for you and Colin every day. Take care of yourself and your family, they must be very special people. May God Bless you all. Love, Millie

My Ashley's this last steroid pulse was tacos! ;op Your daddy has been checking on my Ashley so I wanted to see how you were doing. Enjoy swimming and the rest of the summer!

Hello miss Ashley and family. Congratulations on starting long term maintenance!!!!!! My Maria can't wait for the day because it means her hair will start to grow back again. I think she is getting pretty tired of being bald. Are you thinking hard about what you want to do for your make a wish trip? Maria thinks she wants to go on a safari-type trip to see elephants, tigers, hippos and all that. Let us know what you decide. I'm sure whatever you pick will be a TON of FUN!!!!

Earlier today, I read your father's letter to the Grand Rapids Press, regarding its recent negative article on Tony Stewart and his visit to a local racetrack. More importantly, I was touched by the parts of the article that told about you...for a couple of reasons: 1) I have a brother that lives in Acworth. In fact, he was just in GR last week to pay us a visit. His son, Hunter, has Cerebral Palsy and a mild form of epilepsy, 2) I have friends in this area that have child diagnosed with metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) that first made me aware of the caringbridge website. This site, and following my friend's ups and downs, has been very informative and uplifintg for me. Anyway, best of luck in your recovery...my wife and I will add you to our prayer list.

Hi Ashley and mom and dad-boy does she remind me of our little girl , Ashton, who had ALL and is now 3 months OT!. Ashton was dx'd right b/f she turned 3, and has blonde hair and brown eyes. She is now 5 and 1/2! I read your journal entries when she was first dx'd and I have to say, ya'll sound GOOD! I don't know that i ever "read" that good. I am praying for Ashley tonight, no doubt. Those beginning days sound so familiar, but as time goes by, they are becoming a distant memory-and hopefully will stay that way. My hubby says Barney is "evil" too-I found this kinda' funny!
Hope Ashley is doing great and kickin' butt(-'scuse my language!)God is truly w/ us on this journey.

I saw your new picture. You are the prettiest little girl!!!! I was delighted to see your new entry and hear the great count results. Hearing how the medicine makes you feel makes me feel like Oscar. But, it sounds like it's doing just what it is suppose to do and will eventually make you stronger. You are already are very strong in ways we can only imagine. Hey Ashley,
My son, Tommy, also has Leukemia. I wanted to check on you. I keep up with you on ALL-Kids. I'm sorry to hear that your counts are down. When Tommy's counts went down and he was confined to the house we did ALOT of BAKING and COOKING different things like Grilled Cheese, Eggs, M/C and Cookies, Cake, and many more. Just a few ideas. I will be praying for you.

Dear Ashley, Margaret and Larry,
I am thinking about you and praying for you every day. Did Sponge Bob ever get to your house?
I'm sure you are using soft lullabies before sleep time, but if you want more music ideas, e-mail me. Also, maybe a nice soaky bath with lavender oil, or smelling a Bach flower essence will help at bedtime. You can do a web search to learn more about the Basch flower remedies. They don't interact with other treatments, in my experience.
Love ya,

Ashley, if you find something please tell me.
Gooch has monster go away spray, dads smelly sock hanging in his closet, a cross above his bed, a laser gun, a flashlight, a picture of our old rottweiler, and STILL he is in my bed! There is a 2 foot long flourescent light bulb above the foot of his bed and even with that on he's scared. I give up. If you find anything would you pass it on to me? I have a feeling you will be a big girl and not be so scared sooner than he will. I'm ready to give you 2 walkie talkies to talk all night!

Hi Ashley,

I work with your daddy. He is sooooo funny, isn't he. I bet you can't wait for him to get home every day, huh. Then again, I know how moody he can be too. Sometimes I just cover my ears and say LaLaLaLaLaLa when he gets like that!!!! It works pretty well, I think you should try it!!
Well, your daddy keeps me updated on how you are feeling on a daily basis and I hear you are doing GREAT!! I am soooo glad. My grandfather was told he had AML lukemia about 3 months ago and is now in remission!! He is 76 years old and is doing fine.
I will keep you in my prayers (and I will make a special request that God give you patience with your daddy!).

Hi Ashley. When I was around your age, I got really sick too and they thought I had ALL, but they found out I had Aplastic Anemia instead. That's when your bone marrow doesn't make blood cells. I go to the same kind of doctors you do and get some of the same kinds of treatment so I know it's a lot. But I'm doing really well right now. I found out about your page and wanted to stop by to let you know that I will keep stopping by to check on you and will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hi Ashley, Way to go - walking again! I met a little girl in the hospital when my son was diagnosed, who stopped walking, and you should see her now, over a year off treatment. You'd never know she was ever sick. I read a little bit of your history and it reminded me of when Kyle was diagnosed - his dad hugged him and he felt hot. Later, in the hospital, many of my coworkers came to visit with presents. Kyle, my son, is now nine and finished with all treatment, sleepy medicine, pokes, etc. and before you know it, you will be finished, too! Best wishes from the ALL list, Sue F., mom of Kyle age 9

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. It sounds like your body is working really hard to beat this ALL stuff! I'm happy to hear that you didn't have to spend too much time back in the hospital. I know that can be kind of tough but it is great to know that you have such fantastic Doctors and Nurses that take such good care of you and help you to get better. Hi. I'm so sorry about your recent ALL diagnosis. My daughter, Hillary, has ALL too. She is 12. Guess what? You both have the same doctor- Dr. Lew! He is awesome! Reading your journal entries has touched my heart. I know your parents are probably in a fog about all this- it took me several months to get a grasp on all this, but it does get better. I am praying for you and your family. Maybe we can meet at the clinic. We'll be there again on the 16th. Will you be there then? Ashley,
Hi, my name is Meleah and my husband is Randy. We are both in the Navy just like your mommy and daddy. I work at the Navy base for the same command your mommy does. I have a little boy Alex who is 5 and a little boy Jake who is 3. You have been in our hearts and our prayers since we heard about you. I just went through chemo therapy myself 2 years ago and I know how scary the whole thing can be, especially for those who love you (which I'm sure everyone does). My treatment is over now and I feel great, just like you will. Keep smiling that beautiful smile and we'll keep praying for you to have a speedy recovery. Thank you for sharing your journal with me, I think of you often. Your friend, Meleah

Hi Ashley and family,
My name is Evan, I am 7 years old. I was diagnosed with ALL in July 2001. I am almost half way through my treatment. I still take hungry medicine and when I do, my mom has to fix me whatever I'm hungry for. My favorite is biscuits and gravy. I like to eat that all the time. After the first 5 weeks, you will start feeling much better and won't be as achy. I remember. I live in the mountains in California. It is very nice here. I will remember you in my prayers every night now.

I am so glad to hear that you are in remission. Tell your parents that there is a great support group on line at WWW.all-kids.org they will find alot of support throughout your treatment here from parents who know what you are going through. Dear Ashley. It's so good to hear you got to go home. Like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz said, "There's no place like home." I know your mommy from the base. I am the secretary at the Chapel. My six-year granddaughter has spent a lot of time this past year sick in the hospital. Now she too is home and doing very well! I'm praying for you that you'll be well soon too. GOD BLESS!

Ashley...It breaks my heart to see such a cutie like you feeling so bad. But the good news since I last visited you is the medicine that is making you feel yucky is actually getting rid of all the bad stuff so you can go home and be with your friends and family. Your poor mommie has been by your side every minute and I know she will be glad to get home!! Daddy would love to be home watching the races too!! He says watching TV isn't the same without you running around laughing and throwing the cat around. You're a brave little girl and have wonderful parents that love you very much. Everyone at the Naval Air Station is praying for you and wish for a quick recovery. Give mommie and daddy a big hug for being there always.
P.S. What ever you do "Don't Eat The Cereal"!!
