MY SISTER AMANDA & HER NEW EARRING
Our friend Kyle found this quote and I thought it was so fitting: Children with cancer are like candles in the wind who accept the possibility that they are in danger of being extinguished by a gust of wind from nowhere; and yet, as they flicker and dance to remain alive, their brilliance challenges the darkness and dazzle those of us who watch their light.

Wednesday, March 19, 2008 2:53 PM CDT Hey everyone, Long time no update. Well, we are all doing well, especially Danny. He is getting stronger and pretty soon (hopefully, with growth Hormone) he will be getting taller. Things are getting back to "normal". We went for MRI in Jan. All results came back NED (no evidence of disease), so that is wonderful. There was a slight enhancement in his 4th ventricle. You know my motto; don't worry about something, until you have something to worry about. Amanda is doing well. She is growing into a beautiful young lady and has the personality to match. Well, that may be stretching it ha/ ha She is after all a 13 year old. I'm kidding she really is great. Kyle, I am sorry I haven’t kept in better touch with you; I promise I will call you soon. You are so special to us. I think that Danny will be going to camp this summer. When are you going to be volunteering? Dan & I are doing well also. I think everyone is still adjusting to my going back to work. I expect them to help out. They never had to before because I was always at home. I keep threatening to go on strike. Won't they be surprised if I really do? I really love my job at BASE camp (basecamp.org). It's more than a job, it's my passion. I love helping out families. I enjoy bringing them together. I especially enjoy being with the kids. It is so amazing to watch these strong, brave, wonderful little people who face cancer head on. It gives me a whole new perspective. There are so parts of this job that I wish weren’t a reality, but you have to take the good with the bad. There is a whole lot more good than bad. Well, I need to get going, I will try not to wait a year before I update again. Love, Cindy
