Jordan's Page Thank you for visiting Jordan's page! She is now an 11 year Medulloblastoma survivor!

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 7:33 PM CDT Would you look at this? I'm actually updating this site! I know it's been absolutely ages. I find it easier to keep in touch via Facebook nowadays, but I guess not everyone who followed Jordan here has joined me on Facebook.
Anyway, Jordan is doing really well. Her only medical issues now are high frequency hearing loss, for which she wears hearing aides, and Growth Hormone deficiency, for which she gets replacement injections.
School is going alright. Jordan is still in the Special Day Class, in 7th grade and she is completely self-paced. She is on the certificate track, not expected to earn a diploma. This definitely makes me sad, but we have to look at the positive- she is still here! That means much more to our family than a High School diploma.
We are preparing for our family's 3rd year of participation with 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave, benefitting the St. Baldrick's Foundation. I shaved my head in Washington DC in September 2011, Guy and Ben both shaved last summer in LA, and Ben and I will both be shaving again this June in San Antonio. Ben has already met his fundraising goal of $1,000 thanks to some very generous donations! I'm very proud of his dedication and excitement for the cause.
Ben is currently in 5th grade and Emma is in Kindergarten. Both are doing well in school and Ben is excited to start middle school in the fall.
I will try to update more often, I know I've let it go for far too long!
