Have a great time, Alisa Devin's site <tiredofcancer@yahoo.com> - Friday, August 25, 2006 9:13 AM CDT Thanks for thinking of Arianna today.. She's doing good right now, but the seizure monster is still kicking her butt. Since her open heart in June it seems like the seizures are coming back w/ a vengance.. BUT now that she's got the new valve in her heart from a cardio standpoint she's doing wonderful! Ya know, I still have the picture of Brock you sent me what 2 years ago on my fridge. I see it everyday and think about what our little miracles have been thru and how they are today. Its amazing what effect these little creatures can have on everyone else at the same time isnt it? Arianna goes back to her pre-k class next week 2x a week until we see how she's doing. Her teachers are surprised that she's coming back this soon after her open heart, but its like they say the sooner things return to "normal" the better they will be. So 2 days of school, back to DE for heart check up and then 4 days of school and then back to OH for the rest of the stuff *brain, kidney, heart, lungs, GI*... It never seems to end..You just have to make the most out of it right? Tina & Lance <lancejrmommy@comcast.net> - Wednesday, May 10, 2006 6:50 PM CDT Hi Brock, How is the new house?? Did Mommy decorate your room with Thomas?? I can remember having a little 3 year old boy who was obsessed with Thomas not so long ago!!!! Now he's into hippie buses and really dreaming big. Do you have "Day Out with Thomas" anywhere close to you? I took my kids a few years ago here in Utah and we had a great time. I think Dev was about 5 by then, but still quite obsessed with trains. Tell mom I finally answered her e-mail. I'm a bit behind. We've had one too many sick people at our house lately. Glad they've got your scans set up. That should answer some questions at least. Dev was at the doctor earlier this week and the dr. was saying some particular blood test would come back as false positive due to iron supplements.... now I can't remember which one it is...I'll see that dr. again on Monday, so I'll try to remember to ask then. Sorry things are so up in the air with Brock's health conditions. It just seems neverending... I know. That is how we feel too. Its exhausting. I'm just so glad these boys have come so far. I will keep you in my prayers as you continue to face these issues with your beautiful family. I hope that you are doing all you can to take care of yourself now. Probably a good idea about the house. We are facing such a similar issue here after Wilma knocked our 100 foot tall oak tree onto our house. Rebuild? Move? Build new? Yikes! I can't face it either... Mary Kay (mommy to Baby Will) www.caringbridge.com/fl/willson <mk@Mkminc.com> FL - Monday, March 6, 2006 9:45 PM CST Hello again from Canada...Waggoner family.... I posted a note in your journal after Hurricane Katrina....just to introduce myself and tell you how I had accessed Brock's site....through a friends site, www2.caringbridge.org/canada/amanda/index.htm. Anyway, as I told you in my first post your little man grabbed my heart from the moment I saw his photo (months earlier) and had read his story. I check in all the time on Brock, but am not very good when it comes to leaving a message, sorry! I find it so amazing that such a sweet little guy/and his family...that I have never met could have such an impact on me. When I read your posts Amy...especially this last one you wrote, I had tears and my heart just aches for you....as a mother and a grandmother of 3... I just wish I could take some of your stress, heartache and worry away. I can remember back a couple of years ago when my oldest grandson Jordan was in hospital so sick and they had found an irregularity in his heart and he was transported immediately to Children's Hosp. in Vancouver...I felt as if the air had been sucked out of me...how could this be happening...fortunately things turned around once he was examined in Vancouver. Apparently a Technician at our hospital had connected the wires wrong when she did his ECG test...so this gave them the bad reading that had caused so much concern. I just wanted to let you know that I am hoping and praying for your little man Brock daily and for your family and that everything will work out to be positive for Brock and all of you...he is obviously a very determined little man with a strong will, especially with all he has gone through up until this point...I just feel in my heart he will get through anything he faces in the future. From what I have seen and read you are such a caring, wonderful Mom, your kids are as blessed to have you as you are to have them. Trust your judgement and what you feel in your heart, you will make the right choices when the time in right. Hugs and prayers to all of you! Brock is the cutest little man ever. I was so sorry to hear about your doctor. We had a similar situation with our nuerosurgeon. I can only image how hard it is to have your little guy facing surgery. We had a scare recently, so I felt the same familiar ache... Brock is lucky to have you watching over him so carfeully. Just like Susan and Mark, it just plain sucks that you have this facing you. You are raising the most happy pair of muchkins! All your pictures are so happy! Thank you for checking in our Will. Im in the parents resource room right now, so dont really have that much time to respond, but know that were thinking about you all. Like you Im pretty scattered, frazzled and more.. Totally understood you guest book entry.. Your right this does suck~ We try to stay positive and all that but... Dont know which way to turn, but know we will make the right choices for our children.. Look how far we've come so far..We've made some toughies havent we?? I know what your feeling w/ Brocks surgon retiring.. Arianna's isnt practicing anymore so we had to go "shopping" for a doctor.. Not something you can easily do when your talking about your childs heart. We felt pretty abandoned when our's stopped practicing, didnt know what to do, where to go etc.. The search was hard, and of course we will never find a team like we used to have, but we can hope and pray they are close right? Amy (www.caringbridge.org/tn/ryanbreedlove) <Breedlj@hotmail.com> Knoxville, Tn USA - Tuesday, February 14, 2006 5:00 PM CST I am so sorry you have to make this decision. We had almost 18 months between our son's second and third open heart surgeries and time was definetly the enemy and our saving grace all at once. It was like we wanted to do the Fontan now , now ,now, to get it over with but never wanted to do it at all...It is the hardest thing in the world to have to "decide" what to do and when to do it when it involves a surgery on your child. I know you will find the strength to chose what to do and when to do it when things are right for Brock. Us Moms (and Dads) of special children always do find that moment when we "know" it is time. We will say a prayer for you all that things go as smoothly as they can and we hope that you have a Happy Heart Day today. Dorothy,Jordan & family (HRHS) <drpthy1@excite.com www.caringbridge.org/nj/jordan> nj - Tuesday, February 14, 2006 3:37 PM CST Amy, I just read Brock's update and I'm sorry the appt was not all that you had hoped for. I can relate though- I know your child has a heart condition and my child has neurological issues, but we have still been torn on issues too and it is so so so difficult. It has taken us 10 months to finally feel comfortable with doing Morgan's next surgery- a muscle biopsy and feeding tube. After 10 months of praying, we have decided to move forward. I urge you to pray about it over the next couple of months. Maybe even try to talk with another pediatric cardiology group? I know we have an excellent group here in Atlanta- the Sibley Heart Center. I know, you want to be at home but I just felt I should mention it. My friend's almost lost their little girl at 7 weeks old and then she had 2 life saving surgeries and is doing great now- almost 2 years old. I'm here if you want to vent. I am praying for you all. Most of New Orleans looks kinda bad, but it's getting better. I've gone to Metairie alot lately. I was worried about taking Juliett, but you know, it's not so bad. I mostly stayed indoors and she doesn't pay too much attention at what's going on out the window when riding in the car so that was a help. I'm sure it'll be fine! Hope ya'll have a great safe trip! Jackie <jjohnston826@yahoo.com> Tupelo, MS - Saturday, January 21, 2006 7:14 PM CST Amy, thanks for coming by and signing Arianna's guest book. You know, your right.. Arianna's unknown future and heart surgery is getting to me.. More then Id like I guess. People at work have been saying there is something going on, but cant put their finger on it. You nailed it right on the head :)~ Im scared to death of what might happen if she doesnt have her open heart soon, but at the same time even more scared to have it now because of the odds. I know she has beaten them before and she is at a better % now then when she had her first one, but its hard.. When I handed her over when she was 4 days old I didnt really know her and didnt have that chance to bond w/ her and fell into what the doctors told me about her survival, I thought in simpler terms, either she will or she wont, either way I will love her. I mean I instantly loved her from the moment I had the positive result, I carried her for 37 weeks not knowing if tomorrow there wouldnt be a heart beat, but I didnt really have the bond w/ her that I do now. Arianna has been rubbing my back lately telling me its ok.. Boy if she only knew. I have had a few little talks w/ her about what has to happen to her heart soon, but she is only a baby, how is she supposed to understand the why's when we dont? No child should have to face these things, and no parent should have to watch their child go thru he!! just to live another day. But at the same time I wouldnt change it for the world. Arianna has taught me so much, she has given me so much w/ out even knowing it, how could I not stand beside her and help her have the best life she can? Sorry to ramble... But Im sadly glad someone understands. I hope things are going good on your end. Hi my name is Robin Huff and my daughter Courtney was diagnosed with Luekemia Oct 2003. She went into remission 2 weeks from strat of chemo and remains in remission today, with no complications throughout..Thank God. I have alot of caringbridge friends/ well more like family all over the world but you are the first I've found close to home. After Courtney was diagnosed all of our so called friends kind of disappeared on us. It's been a very lonely road. I'm just so excited i found you all. We live in gadsden, Courtney recieves her treatments at Childrens Hospital. I know how you feel on the moving thing, thats what we were doing this time last year. After Courtney was diagnosed we hit rock bottom and lost almost everything we worked hard for, for 15 years. My Mom and Dad bought us our house we live in now, and bought us a car for christmas in 2003. I would love to get to know you. Will you be attending the Camp Smile A Mile Christmas Party next Sunday? We went to our first camp In Sept, the family camp. It was great. This will be our first party too. I will post my e-mail address so maybe we can get together and talk. It was so great meeting you. Sending lots of prayers. love , and hugs your way Robin www.caringbridge.org/al/courtneyhuff Robin Huff <huff418@comcast.net> Glencoe, Al Usa - Wednesday, November 30, 2005 1:11 AM CST Glad the packing is coming along.
